As the ISSF World Championships in Doha approach the halfway stage, the ISSF is delighted with the excellent standard of competition, the outstanding performances of athletes from around the world and the successful start to the qualification process for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the first of 36 available Olympic quota places already secured.

The ISSF would particularly like to express its sincere appreciation to the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association, the Local Organising Committee and the Qatari authorities for their exceptional hospitality, professionalism and the high quality of facilities and services provided to all participating athletes, officials and delegations.

Doha is once again demonstrating its remarkable capacity to welcome major international sporting events. Alongside the ISSF World Championships, the city is currently hosting the FIP World Cup in padel, bringing together the world's leading national teams, while the prestigious MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix will take place this weekend, with the main race scheduled for Sunday 8 November. These events underline Qatar's experience and commitment to providing a welcoming, well-organised environment for international sport.

We look forward with confidence and enthusiasm to the remaining days of competition, more outstanding sporting performances and further milestones on the road to LA2028.
