ISSF President honours mr Hazem Hosny with ISSF’s highest distinction for his contribution to shooting sport

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has awarded its President’s Gold Medal and Diploma of Honour to mr Hazem Hosny, President of the Egyptian Shooting Federation and the African Shooting Confederation, in recognition of his continued contribution to the development of shooting sport in Egypt, across Africa and around the world.

The distinction was presented by ISSF President Luciano Rossi during the opening ceremony of the ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol in Cairo on 9 October 2026, in front of athletes, officials and guests from around the world. The presentation recognised mr Hosny’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the sport at national, continental and international levels.

The ISSF President’s Gold Medal is the Federation’s highest recognition, acknowledging outstanding contributions to shooting sport and its global community.
Supporting the sport in Egypt, Africa and beyond

Through his leadership of both the Egyptian Shooting Federation and the African Shooting Confederation, mr Hosny has contributed to the development of shooting sport at national and continental levels. His work reflects the importance of strong federations, international cooperation and sustained investment in the sport’s future.

Presenting the medal during the Cairo World Cup opening ceremony provided an opportunity to recognise his contribution in front of the international shooting community, with delegations from across the world gathered in Egypt for the competition.

The honour also highlights the role of sports leaders in creating opportunities for athletes, supporting the development of national federations and helping shooting sport continue to grow across different regions.
The ISSF World Cup Rifle / Pistol in Cairo runs from 8 to 16 October 2026, bringing together 385 athletes from 51 countries at the Shooting Ranges of Egypt’s International Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital.
