The call for candidates has been issued by the ISSF Electoral and Nominations Commission (ENC), which will oversee the nomination and election process. The Commission is responsible for ensuring that the process is conducted in a transparent, fair and impartial manner, in accordance with the ISSF Constitution, Electoral Rules and Integrity Code.
Positions open for election
Nominations are invited for the following positions:
- President
- Four Vice-Presidents*
- Five ordinary members of the Executive Committee
- Chairpersons of the Technical, Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Moving Target, Target Sprint, Judges, Coaches, Statutes and Eligibility, Medical, Sustainability, and E-Sports, E-Games and Technological Innovations Committees.
The Chairperson of the Athletes Committee is not part of this election process, as that position is not elected by the General Assembly.
*The ISSF has noted that, subject to a proposed amendment to the ISSF Constitution, the General Assembly may be asked to approve an increase from four to five Vice-Presidents, with representation from each of the five continents and both genders. The election of five Vice-Presidents would only take place if the constitutional amendment is approved with the required majority.
Who can nominate?
Each Full Member Federation in good standing may nominate one candidate for each position or category of position subject to election. Candidates must have the formal support of their Member Federation.
Nominations must be submitted exclusively through the official online Candidate Nomination Form. Nominations sent by email will not be accepted. The Word version of the form is provided for Member Federations to collect information internally, but it cannot be used to submit a candidature.
The deadline for nominations is 14 September 2026 at 23:59 CET. Late nominations will not be accepted.
Eligibility and election process
Candidates must meet the requirements established in the ISSF Constitution and Electoral Rules. These include having the support of the nominating Member Federation, being no older than 75 on the election date, not having served more than 12 consecutive years in the same elected position, and meeting the applicable disciplinary, integrity, anti-doping and safeguarding requirements. Candidates must also pass the eligibility and integrity assessment conducted by the ENC.
Following the close of nominations, the ISSF Secretariat will carry out an initial review of the submissions. Eligibility and integrity assessments are scheduled to be completed by 14 October 2026, when the official list of eligible candidates, together with their biographies and candidate statements, is expected to be published.
The campaign period will begin with publication of the official candidate list and continue until the close of the General Assembly. Candidates will be required to follow the ISSF Electoral Rules and campaign requirements throughout the process.
The 2026 ISSF General Assembly and elections will take place on 13–14 December in Rome.

The ISSF Candidate Nomination Form must be completed in English and submitted electronically by the nominating Member Federation. The form also confirms that the candidate and Federation understand and accept the applicable ISSF rules and requirements.
