The countdown is on. Today marks 100 days to go until the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026, where the world's best young athletes will come together in Senegal for the first Olympic sporting event ever to be held on the African continent.
Running from 31 October to 13 November 2026, Dakar 2026 will welcome 2,700 athletes from around the world in a Games that will feature full gender balance across all sports and events, highlighting the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.
While shooting sport will not feature as a medal sport, the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is proud to be part of the Dakar 2026 Engagement Programme, bringing the excitement of the sport to young athletes, spectators and local communities throughout the Games.
Through interactive activities, the ISSF aims to introduce a new generation to shooting sport, encouraging participation and showcasing the values of precision, concentration, discipline and respect that define the sport.
