Italy's Sara Bongini captured the Skeet Women title at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Lonato 2026 after prevailing in a dramatic shoot-off against Sweden's Victoria Larsson, with both athletes establishing a new World Record of 35 hits in an unforgettable final.

The gold medal contest developed into one of the finest Skeet Women finals in ISSF history. Bongini and Larsson produced an extraordinary display of consistency, matching each other target for target throughout the final and both reaching 35 hits, surpassing the previous World Record. With the score still tied, the title was decided in a shoot-off, where Bongini held her nerve to win 3-2, delighting the home crowd with Italy's first individual gold medal of the competition.
Larsson also leaves Lonato as a World Record holder, having matched Bongini shot for shot throughout the final before narrowly missing out on gold in the shoot-off. The Swedish athlete produced one of the strongest performances of her career and demonstrated exceptional composure under pressure.
Olympic silver medallist Amber Jo Rutter of Great Britain claimed the bronze medal with 29 hits. Rutter remained firmly in contention during the early stages before Bongini and Larsson separated themselves with an exceptional run of perfect shooting, leaving the British athlete to secure another ISSF World Cup podium finish.
China's Jiang Yiting finished fourth with 26 targets after another solid performance, while the United States placed two athletes in the final through Samantha Simonton, who finished fifth with 22, and Dania Jo Vizzi, who placed sixth with 21.

Assem Orynbay of Kazakhstan finished seventh with 10 targets, while Slovakia's Danka Hrbekova completed the eight-athlete final in eighth place with 9.
