The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), in collaboration with the International Testing Agency (ITA), has published an overview of its anti-doping activities for 2025, reaffirming its strong commitment to clean sport.

A total of 179 samples were collected throughout the year, contributing to 189 completed tests across the ISSF’s testing programme.

Testing covered athletes from 42 different nationalities, reflecting the global reach of the sport. Of the samples collected, 153 were conducted in competition, while 26 took place out of competition, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive testing approach.

All samples collected in 2025 were urine samples, with no blood samples reported.

The gender distribution of tested athletes remained balanced, with 51% men and 49% women.

Focus on Education and Prevention

Education remains a central pillar of the ISSF’s anti-doping strategy.

In 2025, a clean sport education plan was developed, reaching 71 countries and engaging 468 participants through dedicated webinars. In addition, one event-based education activity was delivered alongside competitions.

These initiatives aim to ensure that athletes and their support teams are well informed about their rights and responsibilities, reinforcing a culture of clean sport across all levels.

The ISSF continues to work closely with the ITA to deliver a robust and transparent anti-doping programme.
