The International Shooting Sport Federation continues to progress its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives through the work of its DEI Ad Hoc Committee, with a clear focus on increasing the participation and visibility of women across all areas of shooting sport.

Efforts are centred on strengthening gender balance among athletes, International Technical Officials, committee members and leadership positions. Close cooperation with ISSF bodies and Member Federations has contributed to a steady rise in female representation within juries and referee teams at international competitions, as well as greater involvement of women in governance structures and youth pathways.

A particular area of emphasis is the development of women in officiating roles. Member Federations are encouraged to nominate female candidates for international judges’ courses, creating qualification opportunities that lead to appointments at ISSF events and supporting long-term capacity building within the sport.

The Committee’s work is delivered in collaboration with ISSF committees, Continental Confederations and National Federations, which play an important role in promoting participation, education and leadership development at regional and national levels. Experience to date has also underlined the value of direct engagement and dialogue in driving practical progress across the shooting sport community.

The ISSF remains committed to further strengthening its DEI approach through the development of a structured strategic framework and continued stakeholder cooperation, reinforcing inclusion as an essential element of the sport’s global growth and future development.
