The meeting was opened by Committee Chairperson Ghislaine Briez, who welcomed members and invited the ISSF Secretary General to address the Committee. In his remarks, the Secretary General thanked the Judges’ Committee for their continued commitment and the significant work carried out to enhance the efficiency and quality of ISSF World Class Jury members. He also highlighted the importance of improving gender balance among qualified ISSF officials and wished the Committee a productive and successful meeting.
Over the two-day programme, the Committee completed a comprehensive agenda covering key operational and strategic topics. This included a review of Judges’ Training Courses and Instructor Workshops delivered in 2025, which resulted in a significant increase in the number of Jury members qualifying for an EST licence. The Committee also noted that 2026 is expected to be another busy year, with an expanded schedule of Judges’ Courses planned.
Several ISSF manuals were reviewed and updated to reflect changes introduced in the new ISSF Rule Book. In addition, the Committee discussed the imminent launch of a new digital database for licence holders, Jury members, and Referees. The new system will streamline administration and allow for more accurate tracking by removing inactive licence holders from the records.
Jury appointments were also addressed, alongside initiatives aimed at further improving performance standards. Among the measures discussed was the introduction of a knowledge test as part of licence renewals and upgrades.
ISSF Sport Director Peter Underhill addressed the Committee during the meeting, providing an update that included insights from the recent visit to venues planned for the LA28 Olympic Games.
The meeting concluded on the second day with a positive outlook, reflecting strong engagement, constructive discussions, and clear objectives for the continued development of ISSF officiating standards.
