Li Yuehong
Nation: China
World Cup Ranking: N/A
Qualification: ISSF World Cup Final Title Defender
Choosing to focus on the Chinese National Games, Li Yuehong, the 25m rapid fire pistol Olympic champion, has not competed on the international circuit so far this year and it is unclear if he, like Huang Yuting, will return to the national team for the ISSF World Cup Final, consider they have already qualified.
Li won back-to-back golds in Baku and Munich last year to qualify for the World Cup Final, where he beat Germany's Florian Peter to gold, securing his spot this year as the defending champion.
While his form this year and his participation in Doha are unknown, Li is one of the most-decorated athletes to travel to Doha. He won the Olympic gold medal last year after consecutive bronzes at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. He became world champion in 2023 and has two more bronze medals to his name there. He has stood on the World Cup Final podium four times in six appearances and has six World Cup gold medals to his name too.
If he chooses to compete, the 36-year-old could easily be one of the favourites.

Vijayveer Sidhu
Nation: India
World Cup Ranking: 16
Qualification: ISSF World Cup gold (Buenos Aires)
In the season opener, Vijayveer Sidhu claimed his first ISSF World Cup title, seeing off the field in Buenos Aires. With it, he secured his place at the ISSF World Cup Final for the second time, having finished seventh last year in New Delhi.
Since then, Sidhu has not found that form that brought him to the top of the podium. He finished 17th and then 36th in Lima and Munich respectively. That maiden victory will be something to hold on to in hope, that that form will return in time for Doha.

Matej Rampula
Nation: Czechia
World Cup Ranking: 7
Qualification: ISSF World Cup gold (Lima)
Matej Rampula secured his third consecutive ISSF World Cup Final place after the Czech won his first ISSF World Cup gold medal back in April in Lima. Shooting well in his final 10 shots was the difference as he held off China's Su Lianbofan and Christian Reitz of Germany.
Much like Sidhu, Rampula's other World Cup results would end in the qualification round. He placed 13th in the 10m event in Lima too, before finishing 34th in the 25m distance in Munich.
However, Rampula has shown encouraging signs elsewhere. In the competitive European Championship, he finished sixth in the 25m rapid fire event too. A sign of promise heading towards the two major events at the end of the year.
Last year he finished 10th in New Delhi and last time he was in Doha in 2023, he placed fourth. The Czech will be hoping third time's the charm when he returns to Qatar.

Jean Quiquampoix
Nation: France
World Cup Ranking: 1
Qualification: ISSF World Cup gold (Munich)
Freshly turned 30, Jean Quiquampoix has achieved nearly all he can in shooting sport, having won the Olympic title at Tokyo 2020, five years after taking silver at Rio 2016.
The Frenchman secured his seventh ISSF World Cup gold medal when he stormed to victory in Munich, holding off the home favourites Florian Peter and Enmanuel Mueller. He signed off in Ningbo, as Peter would get the best of him on that occasion, taking the silver medal. These results put him to the top of the World Cup rankings. He did not compete a lot, but it was a case of quality over quantity.
He would then finish behind Peter and his compatriot Clement Bessaguet for the bronze medal at the European Championship - showing that France and Germany remain two of the best nations in the world in this event.
Quiquampoix is only missing a senior world title in his collection, and will look to perform for the sixth time at the ISSF World Cup Final. His sole gold medal at the event came in Munich 10 years ago and he still remains a serious contender a decade on.

Florian Peter
Nation: Germany
World Cup Ranking: 2
Qualification: ISSF World Cup gold (Ningbo)
It is fitting that Florian Peter only sits behind Jean Quiquampoix in the World Cup rankings, with the pair going head-to-head throughout the second half of the season.
Their paths are parallel - they opted out of the trip across the Atlantic Ocean for the South American legs, choosing to start their season in Munich. The German has never won gold in his home country, and he would be denied again, as Quiquampoix defeated Peter and Mueller to the top spot.
Peter was then crowned the European champion on Quiquampoix's turf, denying the Frenchman from winning in Chateauroux. On neutral ground, Peter emerged victorious in Ningbo to secure his World Cup Final spot, beating Quiquampoix and Bessaguet to the win.
Wherever the medals go, the Peter-Quiquampoix rivalry will be one to keep an eye on. Peter has a good record in his two appearances - winning in 2023 in Doha and silver in New Delhi last year. On his return to Qatar, he will believe in deja vu.

Emanuel Mueller
Nation: Germany
World Cup Ranking: 3
Qualification: ISSF World Cup rankings
Two Frenchmen and two Germans have been the high performers in the second half of the season. The second German is Emanuel Mueller, who picked up his first ISSF World Cup bronze medal in Munich.
Mueller is a latecomer to the national team, having made his World Cup debut at 26 and was not a regular until 2024. Now 33, he is coming into his best form to date. His first appearance of the season saw him finish fifth in the 25m rapid fire pistol final in Lima - the first final he had qualified for on the circuit.
He then finished third behind Jean Quiquampoix and Florian Peter in Munich, before just missing out on the medals at the European Championship, placing fourth behind Peter, Clement Bessaguet and Quiquampoix. The German added another fourth-place finish, behind Peter, Quiquampoix and Bessaguet in Ningbo.
The quartet have been very familiar in the past few months and while Mueller has yet to grab the top spot yet, he is consistently showing he is capable of matching these top names as he gets ready for his ISSF World Cup Final debut.

Clement Bessaguet
Nation: France
World Cup Ranking: 4
Qualification: ISSF World Cup rankings
Much like Emanuel Mueller is not far from Florian Peter, Clement Bessaguet is not far from Jean Quiquampoix. The 34-year-old has been consistent throughout his career, winning two consecutive world silver medals in 2022 and 2023 and heartbreakingly missing the Olympic final twice in a row, finishing seventh on both occasions.
Bessaguet has two World Cup golds to his name, as well as six silvers and three bronzes. He also came close to winning a second European title in 2025, but just fell short in a battle on home soil with Peter.
Aside from the European silver medal, Bessaguet opened the season with fourth in Munich, just missing the podium; but would finish with a bronze in Ningbo. He, like Quiquampoix, Mueller and Peter, will expect to contend for medals. All three spots on the podium could be shared between the four of them.

Highest-ranked non-qualifiers still in contention: Su Lianbofan (China), Christian Reitz (Germany), Hong Suk-jin (Republic of Korea).
