Hosts China started the ISSF World Cup in Ningbo in successful fashion, winning the mixed team 10m air pistol gold medal, thanks to the work of Yao Qianxun and Hu Kai.

Meanwhile, Norway spoiled a Chinese double, having defeated the hosts in the final of the mixed team 10m air rifle event.

Yao and Hu have been two of the most in-form athletes this year, and together had won two silver mixed team medals in Buenos Aires and Lima, before winning in Munich. Individually, Hu has won all three men's 10m air pistol titles so far this year too.

They took their second gold together with a resounding victory in the gold medal match against the Czechs Veronika Schejbalova and Jindrich Dubovy. With a run of four series won at the end of the match, leading them to a 17-5 win. Now attention will turn to Hu's quest to win all four ISSF World Cup legs in the season.

The bronze medal match was a close one, with Hungary's Veronika Major and Akos Karoly Nagy holding off the Individual Neutral Athletes Iana Enina and Anton Aristarkhov by a score of 17-13.

China were also in the mixed team 10m air rifle final, but came up short as Norwegians Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jon-Hermann Hegg won 17-9 over Peng Xinlu and Sheng Lihao. The teams were tied at the top, with the score at 9-9. The difference-maker was Duestad, who over the next four series, scored between 10.5 and 10.8, which helped Norway edge out China. It was the pair's third medal of the season, having won gold in Lima and bronze in Munich. It was Sheng's second successive mixed team silver, after making the final in Munich with Wang Zifei.

Bronze went to Carlotta Salafia and Danilo Sollazzo from Italy, who dominated in the second half of their contest against Marta Zeljkovic and Petar Gorsa of Croatia. The two teams exchanged wins in the first four series to have the score at 4-4, before Italy went on a run of six victories in a row to win 16-4.
