ISSF revisit Paris and Chateauroux one year on from historic Paris 2024 Olympic Games

International Shooting Sport Federation President Luciano Rossi has returned to Paris and Chateauroux to mark the one-year anniversary since our sport was part of the incredibly successful Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 

President Rossi travelled from Chateauroux to Paris, the day after the Opening Ceremony for the European Shooting Championships, to take part in the one-year anniversary celebration for the Games at the Grand Palais.

There, an event was held in the presence of International Olympic Committee President Kirsty Coventry, as well as the French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, the French Minister of Sports, Marie Barsacq and former IOC President, Thomas Bach.

In the Grand Palais, there was a demonstration of Paralympic fencing and taekwondo, followed by speeches from the IOC President Coventry and French National Olympic and Sports Committee President Amélie Oudéa-Castéra. Mr. Bach was then asked to recall some of his best memories from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Shooting sport provided some of the greatest highlights during the Olympics, becoming a fan favourite with new audiences around the world and becoming a viral sensation.

Competition took place in Chateauroux from the 27th of July to the 5th of August 2024 across 15 finals and one year on.

A year on from the Olympic Games, the Olympic Channel has shared all shooting sport finals, calling on the world to Feel the Heartbeat Again and relive their favourite moments from Paris 2024.

You can watch Li Yuehong and Xie Yu win the men's 25m rapid fire pistol and 10m air pistol gold medals for China; or their compatriots Sheng Lihao and Liu Yukun win the men's 10m air rifle and 50m rifle 3 positions titles respectively. 

For fans of the Republic of Korea, you have the choice of watching Oh Ye-jin win the women's 10m air pistol, Yang Ji-in take gold in the women's 25m pistol or Ban Hyo-jin win the 10m air rifle final.

For fans of the underdogs, perhaps you will enjoy watching Guatemala win its first Olympic gold medal thanks to Adriana Ruano in the women's trap final, or Chile win its first Olympic gold in 20 years through Francisca Crovetto in the women's skeet final. Chiara Leone's impressive win in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions final is available too.

One of the most special moments was to see the ongoing dominance of American Vincent Hancock in the men's skeet final, as well as Nathan Hales of Great Britain taking the men's trap title.  Also available is Italy striking gold in the mixed team skeet final.
