Following their latest meeting, the Executive Committee of the International Shooting Sport Federation has confirmed the cities of Daegu and Cairo will host the 2027 ISSF World Championships.

Daegu, a southern city situated in the Republic of Korea will host the 2027 ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol, nine years on from Changwon's hosting of the ISSF World Championships. It will be the third time the country will host the World Championships, having first welcomed the world to Seoul back in 1978.

Since then, Koreans have become some of the most successful sport shooters in the world. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Republic of Korea won three gold and three silver medals - all in rifle and pistol events. The three titles came in women's events, secured by Oh Ye-jin, Yang Ji-in and Ban Hyo-jin.

The ISSF World Cup Final will also be held in Daegu in 2027.

Cairo has been trusted to host the 2027 ISSF World Championship Shotgun - the latest Egypt will host in a successive run of events. Cairo has hosted ISSF World Cup events from 2022 to 2024 in rifle and pistol and will return again in 2026. The city also hosted the 2024 season opener in shotgun, as well as in 2021 and 2023. In fact to date, Cairo has hosted an ISSF World Cup Shotgun leg on 12 occasions.

Later this year, Egypt will host the 2025 ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in the city, before hosting the 2027 ISSF World Championship Shotgun. Previously, Cairo hosted the 1962 ISSF World Championships, as well as the 1959 and 2001 ISSF World Championship Shotgun.

It was also decided that Rome will host the 2026 ISSF World Cup Final, in addition to hosting a Rifle/Pistol leg of the 2027 ISSF World Cup season alongside Baku and Munich. Shotgun legs for the 2027 ISSF World Cup will take place in Acapulco, Lonato and Hangzhou. New Delhi will host an ISSF World Cup leg for all three disciplines too.
