Several important proposals were approved at the International Shooting Sport Federation Executive Committee (Ex Co) and Council meetings, which both took place on 9 July during the ISSF World Cup in Lonato del Garda, Italy.

A key strategic moment came with the approval of the 2027 and 2028 competition calendar by the Ex Co, giving athletes and member federations a unique opportunity for long term planning, (see separate story) while members also approved an agreement with World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to manage WSPS together, with an eye of a full handover to the ISSF in time for the next Paralympic Games.

ExCo recommended that the Council approved the ISSF Integrity Code and new ISSF Safeguarding Regulations and also approved an interim Chairperson and members of the newly approved ISSF E-Sports, E-Games and Technological Innovations Committee.
ISSF President Luciano Rossi thanked the outgoing Hugues Senger for his support around Paris 2024
As the Olympic cycle has now shifted from Paris 2024 to Los Angeles 2028, a new representative for the next Olympic Games was appointed to the ExCo. USA Shooting CEO Kelly Reisdorf replaces the representative for Paris 2024, Hugues Senger, who steps down from the role.

Mr. Senger was warmly thanked by President Luciano Rossi and his Council colleagues for his great contribution to the success of shooting sport at the Paris Olympic Games and will continue working with ISSF as a member of the new E-Sports, E-Games and Technological Innovations Committee. The Preliminary Budget 2025 and the Jury List for 2026 were also voted through by the ExCo.

During the ISSF Council meeting, which began with a minute of silence in memory of former ISSF President Olegario Vasquez-Raña, Council approved the ISSF Integrity Code and Safeguarding Regulations, which come into immediate effect, and also agreed to amendments to ISSF Individual Neutral Athletes (INA) Rules. The Council also approved the appointment of a Co-Chairperson of the ISSF Target Sprint Committee.

Reports then followed from Committee Chairpersons and Continental Confederations. Finally, updates were provided by the ISSF Academy as well as the marketing and media teams on their activities so far in 2025.
