Several nations from all across the world will come together for the 1st ISSF Athletes Committee International Forum, bringing expert opinions to influential voices in the shooting sport community and allow the athletes to use their voice in future decision-making.
So far, representatives of almost 30 countries have registered for the event, with all Chairs and members of national Athletes Committees encouraged to participate in what will be a fantastic opportunity for all to raise discussion about changes they would like made to our sport.
An incredible line of guests will be speaking about their experiences in their career and their roles within the Olympic Movement, including three-time Olympic shooting champion Niccolo Campriani, the Vice President of Sports of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Joining him will be former trap athlete Gaby Ahrens, the Vice-Chair of the WADA Athlete Council who also sits as the Vice-President of the Namibia National Olympic Committee and Africa Liaison to the IOC Athletes’ Commission. Chantal Buchser will also provide support and advice to athletes, creating dialogue. She brings 13 years of experience with the International Olympic Committee to the table, now serving as the Head of Athlete Support and Partnerships.
Athletes will be at the forefront of the discussions and will have a chance to seek advice and create dialogue with the speakers. We strongly encourage all nations to provide a representative at the Forum, which runs on June, 6th from 12:00 to 16:00 CET. Even if your country doesn’t have a stablished Athletes Committtee you will be really welcome!
The ISSF Athletes Committee members will be joined in the ISSF Headquarters in Munich to conduct the Forum online.
