The third episode of the ISSF Road to Paris 2024 series, released today on the ISSF YouTube platform, explores the history of 50m rifle 3 Positions Women’s shooting.
This event made its Olympic debut at the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles, and the field for Paris 2024 looks extremely competitive.
The ISSF TV team spoke with the discipline’s top athletes including Arina Altukhova of Kazakhstan, Shriyanka Sadangi of India and Switzerland’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Nina Christen.
Others expected to contest the Olympic medals at the Chateauroux shooting range are India’s world record holder Sift Kaur Samra and Britain’s former world record holder and current world No. 1 Seonaid McIntosh.
This 20-part ISSF documentary countdown to the Olympics and Paralympics, hosted by Martina Lučić and Jamie Stangroom, will take the sport’s followers all the way through to the Games Opening Ceremony on July 26.
En route it is revisiting some of the biggest Olympic moments and feature exclusive interviews with some of shooting sport’s top names.
