Hosts Hungary earned a gold and three bronzes on the final day of competition at the European Championships 10m Rifle and Pistol in Gyor.
Gold came in the air pistol trio women, where Sara Fabian, Miriam Jako and Veronika Major secured a 17-15 win over Ukraine’s Yulia Ishachenko, Viliena Bevz and 38-year-old Athens 2004 gold medallist Olena Kostevych.
Bulgaria’s team of Antoaneta Kostadinova, Miroslava Mincheva and Adiel Ilieva won bronze after beating Georgia’s Lizi Kiladze, Mariami Marshava and 55-year-old nine-times Olympian Nino Salukvadze 16-6.
Ukraine earned gold in the air rifle trio men event.
Their trio of Sviatoslav Hudzyi, Serhiy Kulish and Oleh Tsarkov fashioned a 17-11 win over Croatia’s Petar Gorsa, Miran Maricic and Josip Sikavica.
The home trio of Soma Hammerl, Zalan Pekler and Istvan Peni took bronze by 16-14 against Germany’s Maximilian Dallinger, Max Ohlenburger and Maximilllian Ulbrich.
The air rifle trio women gold went to the German team of Anna Janssen, the individual gold medallist, Anita Mangold and Larissa Wegner. They earned a 17-15 win over Poland’s Aneta Stankiewicz, Julia Piotrowska and Izabella Dudek.
Bronze went again to Hungary, for whom Eszter Meszaros, Eszter Denes and Gitta Bajos earned a 16-14 win over Norway’s Pernille Nor-Woll, Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jenny Stene.
Turkey collected gold in the air pistol trio men, with Yusuf Dikec, Ismail Keles and Bugra Selimzade earning a 17-11 victory over Ukraine’s Oleh Omelchuk, Pavlo Korostylov and Viktor Bankin.
Hungary earned a third bronze through Janos Polgar, Miklos Tatrai-Fejes and Szabolcs Trajer, 16-8 winners over Latvia’s Emils Vasermanis, Ernests Erbs and Lauris Strautmanis.
